Wood-Ridge is a small borough of only one square mile located in southern Bergen County, New Jersey, approximately 10 miles northwest of Midtown Manhattan.
Wood-Ridge is served by New Jersey Transit at the Wood-Ridge Train Station and by several New Jersey Transit bus routes. The newest train station on the Bergen County Line, named Wesmont Station, is surrounded by new residential development and shopping.
As of the 2020 United States census, the borough’s population was 10,137, an increase of 2,511 (+32.9%) from the 2010 census count of 7,626. All the new development surrounding the new Wesmont Station should has provided population growth and considerable commerce growth for the community.
Students in public school for pre-K through grade 12 attend the Wood-Ridge School District. Students from Moonachie also attend Wood-Ridge High School as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Moonachie School District. Students are also eligible to attend the secondary education programs offered by the Bergen County Technical Schools, which include the Bergen County Academies in Hackensack, and the Bergen Tech campus in Teterboro or Paramus.
