North Arlington is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, with a total area of 2.623 square miles. The population of North Arlington, New Jersey in 2020 was 16,457. This was a 6.9% increase from the 2010 census, when the population was 15,392.
Students in pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade are educated by the North Arlington School District. Queen of Peace, a Roman Catholic parish, operates two parochial schools, Queen of Peace Elementary School (PreK to 8th Grade) and Queen of Peace High School (9th-12th grade).
North Arlington offers an extensive public recreation programs for the community’s youth, offering boys and girls basketball leagues, a recreation bowling league, a girls softball league, little league baseball, a soccer association, and a football and cheerleading program. North Arlington recreation also offers “Recreation for Developmentally Challenged Children”.
This program includes cooperation from neighboring towns, and consists of Spring baseball and soccer. The recreation program serves adults with an adult men’s basketball league as well as an adult women’s volleyball program.
North Arlington is a crossroads, with Hudson County on one side and Essex County on the other. It is a residential area with a small town atmosphere and big city neighbors. Bus service to Hackensack and New York City and close proximity to The Meadowlands Sports Complex make North Arlington an excellent home for commuters.
North Arlington consistly of mostly one-family homes with some two family homes and three garden apartment complexes. There is local shopping on Ridge Road and the Secaucus Outlets are approximately 15 minutes away.
