2013 Hasbrouck Heights Holiday Fest!

This year the Hasbrouck Heights Chamber of Commerce took a leap and did Holiday Fest 2013, a two day shopping promotion for the merchants on the Boulevard and Route 17 sponsored by Costa Memorial Home. The goal was to encourage shops and restaurants to stay open during the annual Holiday Parade and offer alternatives to the mall.

Holiday Fest consisted of two parts, a booklet of participants and a drawing. Merchants advertised a promotion in the booklet and customers received a ticket to the drawing for every $10 dollars spent up to $100. The drawing was held Saturday afternoon at 4:45 PM at the Hasbrouck Heights Public Library.

The event brought out many people to the merchants who participated. Over 3000 tickets were handed out representing over $30,000 in local sales.

Merchants who participated said that it brought in a lot of sales and would entertain it again next year with a few minor improvements.

2013 Hasbrouck Heights Holiday Parade

The parade this year was smaller than usual due to unusual circumstances, but went off as efficiently as possible with the resources the Chamber had on hand this year.

The idea of inviting residents and businesses to decorate cars, bikes, and other vehicles was considered, but received little response from the people.

Our goal is to listen to the people and improve and rebuild the parade to what many of us remembered growing up in Hasbrouck Heights, meanwhile helping bring increased business to the merchants though the Heights Holiday Fest incentive.
